At Karimex Hazelnut Industry, we derive our strength and energy from the abundance and fertility of hazelnuts to ensure their uninterrupted transfer to future generations. Under the two main pillars of Agricultural Sustainability and Energy Sustainability, we are developing comprehensive projects for a more livable world through our initiatives, organizations, and goals. Transferring and educating younger generations on the proper utilization of these two vital resources is one of our fundamental missions, as we highly value their significance for life.

To formalize our sustainability efforts, we actively participate in significant certification programs. As a significant step in hazelnut farming sustainability, we have established AZOF, the first and only bio hazelnut processing factory in the Western Black Sea region. We encourage organic hazelnut production through contractual partnerships with around 1.000 farmers and cultivation on more than 11.000 acres of land. We distribute organic fertilizers to our producers and work with agricultural engineers to establish continuous controlled and ecological farming practices. By promptly addressing our producers issues, we assist them in achieving trouble-free agricultural production. We cover all certification expenses and production costs, thus eliminating unused agricultural pesticides, inorganic fertilizers, and other harmful inputs, thereby preserving the regions natural habitat. Our aim is to help the Black Sea Region, known for producing the worlds finest hazelnuts, maintain its prestigious title.

In our hazelnut factories, significant amounts of energy are consumed during the processing of our raw and advanced processed products. Therefore, we are completing the necessary infrastructure preparations to source energy from renewable energy sources. Through these infrastructural endeavors, we will meet our energy needs from sustainable sources, implementing an environmentally friendly production model. We are covering the rooftops of our Zonguldak factory with solar panels that generate electricity and also starting the installation of a solar energy field (SES) to meet the entire electricity demand of our factories. We commit to transitioning to fully renewable energy production starting from 2024, reducing our environmental footprint and continuing to operate as an eco-friendly enterprise.

As Karimex Hazelnut Industry, we aspire to play a pioneering role in the hazelnut industry through our efforts in agricultural and energy sustainability. We continue our activities with the aim of minimizing our environmental impact, developing sustainable production models, and utilizing renewable energy sources to leave a healthier world for future generations.
