Mehmet Albayrak: 25 Years of Leadership and Innovation


Mehmet Albayrak, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Karimex Hazelnut Enterprises, has been honored with the “Vocational Service” award by the Ordu Rotary Club. This award not only recognizes his success in the business world but also highlights his vision and leadership in sustainable agriculture.


A Career Filled with Achievements


Born in Altınordu, Ordu, Mehmet Albayrak completed his university education in 1979 and began his career in the foreign trade sector in Istanbul. In 1982, he returned to Ordu and entered the hazelnut industry, quickly becoming one of the most prominent figures in the sector. He continues to actively lead Karimex Hazelnut Enterprises as the Chairman of the Board.


Karimex exports both natural and processed hazelnuts and processes hazelnuts at an advanced level under the Hazelle and Nutcolota brands. Through its Bahcce and Kıyır Kıyır brands, the company offers consumer-oriented products. In 2019, the company acquired Azof A.Ş., and now operates on 11,000 acres with over 600 contracted farmers for organic hazelnut production and more than 1,000 contracted farmers for sustainable (Rainforest Alliance - RA) production, exporting to more than 60 countries.
