At Karimex Hazelnut Industry, starting from the year 2023, we are launching the "Project Seni" in collaboration with the Sustainability Department to effectively manage and enhance the impact of our sustainability and social responsibility initiatives.
The "Project Seni" aims to bring together all our projects focused on sustainable, equitable, environmentally friendly, and innovative agriculture for the well-being of the community and our farmers under one umbrella.
As Karimex Hazelnut Industry, we place great importance on sustainability, combating child labor, and promoting women's rights. We continue to implement special measures and awareness projects for seasonal agricultural workers and their children.
As part of the "Project Seni", our first undertaking involves renovating a village school located in the Yığlıca district of Düzce province, which is predominantly inhabited by hazelnut producers and was actively used until the early 1990s.
Through this project, we will refurbish the school and make it available for use as a public space by local residents. The abandoned structure, which has been unused for approximately 30 years, will serve as a gathering place for the villagers and also provide a venue for health screenings of seasonal agricultural workers during the August harvest season, as well as a place for children to receive education. In this way, we aim to contribute to the creation of a more livable environment and a healthier community.
We are carrying out our village school renovation project with an investment of approximately 200.000₺, and our goal is to complete the project and open it for use before August 2023.
